What I thought Iād get on Valentineās Day: a card.
What I got on Valentineās Day: a blind date with my brand new roommate.
Let it be known that I, Saylor Green, am wholeheartedly against blind dating. I think itās superficial, unnecessary, and designed wholly to force people into relationships they arenāt ready for.
Itās me. Iām people.
So when Dylan Parker takes the seat across from me, Iām ready to dismiss him at one glance.
The problem? Heās hot and funny and sweet and the exact kind of guy I read about in the romance novels I sell like hotcakes in my bookstore.
Heās also my new roommate.
Who likes to walk around in his sweatpants and peer over my shoulder and comment on all my online dating escapades.
When he offers to help me flirt my way to dating success, Iām all for it.
But what am I supposed to do when the only person I want to flirt with is… Dylan?

Deliciously happy and sassy
I love Emma Hart. Yes, sheās the queen of sass and sarc, but she also writes a romance that makes me feel happy and uplifted once Iām done reading. Her heroines are always unashamedly themselves while her heroes always fall in love with the heroines exactly as they are. And this book is no exception.
This is the third book in Emma Hartās Bookwormās Guide series about three friends who own and run a book shop. Each book stands completely alone and while characters from the other books obviously pop up in this one, you really donāt have to have read the other books to enjoy and understand this one.
Saylor is our heroine for this book and sheās definitely the feistiest of the three friends. Sheās grumpy, mouthy, a little bit lazy and hella sarcy. And I loved her from her toes to her pink hair. Sheās so honest with who she is but she also hides a slightly insecure side, not wanting to let herself get too close to Dylan for fear of being hurt. I just love that sheās a hardcore bookworm but not the shy and quiet stereotype we might expect.
Dylan is equally delicious. Emma Hart paints quite the picture and the British, tea loving, polite, dirty talker appeared quite vividly in my imagination in all his grey sweatpants and topless glory. It wasnāt that he was accepting of Saylor but just that he got her. He knew her better than he knew herself at some points, and that is everything for me.
Dylan and Saylorās story is a bit of a slow burn friends to lovers, although both know how they feel from the get go. I loved that we really see the pairās relationship growing into something more and when they finally cross that line, itās explosively delicious. I do wish we could have had a bit more sexual shenanigans throughout the book as Ms Hart, Dylan and Saylor did it so very well. Fans self
Like all of Emmaās books, her writing style sparkles with her personality. Itās witty, hilarious and so sassy. Her characters say the things – to themselves and each other – that most of us can only wish we had the wit and nerves to say. And the way that the friends group speak and interact with each other is just pure friendship goals.
And donāt get me started on the old people goals that are the residents of the townās old folks home. That gang have much more of a life than Iāll ever have!
This is another winner from Ms Hart. I loved her characters, their interactions, the sexiness and the love – but most of all, I loved the deliciously happy feeling that the book, as a whole, gave me. A recommended read.
Emma Hart is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over thirty novels and has been translated into several different languages.
She is a mother, wife, lover of wine, Pink Goddess, and valiant rescuer of wild baby hedgehogs.
Emma prides herself on her realistic, snarky smut, with comebacks that would make a PMS-ing teenage girl proud.
Yes, really. She’s that sarcastic.
