Who falls in love on vacation?
When my best friend convinced me to come visit her in Wolf Valley, I thought that maybe it would be a fresh start.
I thought that it would be a chance for me to find some peace and quiet.
Instead, I found Camden.
Or he found me.
It doesn’t matter, the outcome is the same.
He says that I’m his.
I say that he’s crazy.
But what’s crazier, is that I’m starting to believe him.
As soon as I saw Lymric in town, I knew that she was the one for me.
Unfortunately, my plan of walking up to her and telling her that we were meant to be didn’t exactly go over great.
Now, I’m scrambling to come up with a way to show my girl that we’re meant to be.
The clock is racing to prove it to her before she goes home, but I’m not worried.
A Marine never backs down from a fight, and this is one battle that I intend to win.

Quick and fun insta-love story

I have enjoyed many of the books in the Wolf Valley Grumps series – of which this is book 6. While each book stands alone and follows a different couple, our heroine from this book, Lymric, is the best friend of Lilou from her own book, A Very Grumpy Firefighter. Lilou and Milo (but mostly Lilou), do appear in this book.
Lymric is in town for a couple of weeks to visit her bestie, Lilou. Lymric is a location scout and loves her job – but she’s been feeling a bit listless of late and hopes a vacation will help her get over her funk. It takes one look for Camden to know that Lymric is what he’s been looking for. He just has to convince her that what they have is real.
Now, you know what you’re in for when you pick up romance like this one – but our hero, Camden, absolutely takes the cake when it comes to his crazy insta-love reaction to Lymric. It’s hilarious. Barely one minute into his first conversation with her and he announces that “you’re mine.” Ha – love it. But underneath it all – way, deep down – he’s actually a solid, steadfast and logical guy. He’s an ex-marine, after all. And I liked him.
“…a quick and fun addition to the Wolf Valley Grumps series.”
I really liked Lymric, too. She has the appropriate response to Camden’s over-the-top declarations – she proclaims him crazy! Which in the face of Camden’s infatuation – really made me laugh. She was just enough feisty but also had fear – which made her normal and made me like her.
Lymric and Camden maybe don’t get off to the fastest start – in insta-love book world, anyway – but they definitely make up for it. It’s just as hot as you would want and expect – but it didn’t feel gratuitous. In fact, Camden showed remarkable restraint for someone who, according to him, had just found the woman he was planning to spend the rest of his life with.
This was a quick and fun addition to the Wolf Valley Grumps series. Even better, we actually get a story with a successful heroine. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with a down on her luck heroine – but it’s definitely nice to see a woman with a good job and good life find her man. And even better that it’s a man like Camden. 5 stars for this story.
