We meet for the first time on a windswept cliff at 8am.
In twenty-four hours, we’ll marry.
I know it doesn’t look good–being a mail order bride. But I’m not doing this for money or anything gross. The truth is… I’m lonely.
I’m tired of being the forgotten sister; the bookish, plain one who never gets a second look. And my groom-to-be? He won’t stop staring.
But the burly lighthouse keeper is scarred and gruff. He barely speaks, and when he does, it sends shivers down my spine.
Can I really do this? Can I marry a man I just met?
And after feeling his possessive touch… could I ever walk away?

So stinkin’ cute
This is a short, insta-love story that won’t even take you an hour to get through. And it’s so stinkin’ cute that if you’re a fan of insta-love stories then you’ll be in romance heaven.
This story brings us Jessica – a plump, nerdy and slightly awkward girl who often feels overshadowed and overlooked, and Murray – a massive, hulking and scarred loner who keeps to himself in his remote lighthouse. Gah – I can hardly write those words without getting giddy!
Both characters are perfection – each being instantly smitten with the other and too afraid to believe that the other could feel the same. It’s a delicious bit of anticipation as I all but yell at the book to just tell the other one that you like them!! I always do have a soft spot for a big, brooding man that just needs the love of a good woman and that is this book to a T!
When we do get to the good stuff it’s hot and deliciously sticky. Perhaps not enough to scorch your fingers on your kindle but since they’re both virgins, it’s exactly as it should be. And that scene on the kitchen counter was probably a bit more accurate than I anticipated – I laughed and laughed while still being turned on. Slow claps all round.
This is an insta-love story so if you’re concerned with realism then I would pass on this one – and perhaps this whole trope! Having said that, in terms of all the insta-love books I’ve read, this one did feel more believable than others. But hey – that’s not why I read them so I’m not even sure why I’m talking about believability!
This is actually the first Cassie Mint book that I’ve read and I really loved her style. She was descriptive without being over the top and she was also hella funny. I laughed out loud on a few occasions and was thoroughly entertained by the whole story. I loved the characters, loved the premise and was happy to see the epilogue game remains strong within the insta-love trope. Definitely 5 stars for a fun, cute and hot read.
